In Kyrgyz Republic, you will be surprised by fast changeable views on the way, because there is a great diversity of landscapes! Our country is wonderful place for cycling, and you will enjoy your being in Kyrgyzstan.
Places to visit: Bishkek - Kochkor - Sarybulak - Kichi-Naryn - Naryn town - Son Kul lake - Kyzyl Korgon canyon - Kyrk-Kyz pass - Ter Jailak pass - Toluk village - Toktogul village - Bishkek city
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek
You will be met by your guide in the International Airport of Manas and accompanied to Kyrgyz capital (Bishkek). The drive from the Airport to Bishkek city takes half an hour. Upon arrival you will be accommodated in the hotel*** that is located in the calm part of the city. After that you will start the day with a breakfast and have a rest. This day an excursion to Natural Park of Ala - Archa is planned. This Park is situated 45 km away Bishkek in the Gorge of Ala-Archa, on the Kyrgyz ridge (Tien - Shan spur). To have a good view of this famed gorge you will ascend on the top of the mountain. Afterwards we will return to Bishkek city. At 7 o'clock in the evening dinner is served. Overnight stay is in the hotel***.
Day 2: Bishkek - Kochkor - Sarybulak
Today we start the trip by car via Orto Tokoi water collecting reservoir to Naryn region, Kochkor Village. In Kochkor you will be shown the way of Kyrgyz national carpets (ala kiyiz) production. During felt show you even could make your own felt carpet. In Kochkor Village you also visit the shop of the Kyrgyz Handicrafts. After that we will ride for 38 km. to Sary Bulak village (2310 m. alt.) by the asphalt road. On dirt road, transfer (7 km, 2390m. alt.) by bike to Kara - Kudjur and Biulioomiu River's confluence. Night will be spent in the tent camp.
Day 3: Sarybulak - Kichi-Naryn
This day is an easy one. Cycling is by the dirt road. We will cycle along Balgart and Kichi-Naryn Rivers. In the forest near Kichi - Naryn River we will spend this night in the tent camp. Among nomads since ancient times this place is very popular. Herdsmen with their families were coming to this region. From one place to another one, all of them as a big family were going with a great amount of livestock. The Kyrgyz nomads like to meet travelers and they are very hospitable. Some big Kyrgyz tribes could include 1000 yurts and even more.
Day 4: Ride (63 km) Kichi - Naryn (2351m. alt.) - Naryn town
This day is an easy one. Early morning breakfast. After that riding is down to Kichi-Naryn Village that is situated 4 km away from Kichi-Naryn and Naryn Rivers confluence. The road to Naryn will surprise you with its amazing mountains and beauty. Along Naryn River you will ride to Naryn town (2050 m. alt.). The town of Naryn is situated very close to the mountains, at the altitude of 2800 m. above the sea level. It was built right along the gorge near the longest Kyrgyz River - Naryn. You will have many photo stops, as the whole way will be along incredible gorges. Riding is by the main road. We will have a lunch on the way. This night you spend as nomads in collapsible nomadic dwellings (yurts) that are made of felt and wood without nails.
Day 5: Transfer or Ride Naryn - Son Kul Lake
This day it is possible to ride or we can be transferred over the Pass of Kurtka (3243m. alt.) to the 2nd biggest mountain lake in Kyrgyz Republic - Son Kul. The first part of cycling to the gorge beginning is with a slight descent and easy. We will go through a narrow passage to the gorge with high sharp rock walls, in some places up to 200 meters. A steep ascent to the pass begins here. The descent is shorter and easier. Kyrgyz nomads with their families started to come to this superb area for rest and relaxation. Naryn region shepherds come to the lake and use it as grass land. Son Kul Lake is situated at the altitude of 3016 meters above sea level; it is surrounded by the mountains. Son Kul is the highest alpine lake in Kyrgyz Republic. You will be free to explore the area and enjoy the virgin nature of the lake and its surroundings after our arrival there. Overnight (3016 m. alt.) will be in yurt camp. Dinner.
Day 6: Son Kul Lake
Today we have free time in the Kyrgyz paradise after long bicycle journey. You will have an exceptional chance to explore Kyrgyz nature and lifestyle on your own. You can relax in the atmosphere of wild and calm natural world or ride on a horse along the lake's shore. It is a great chance to familiarize with nomadic customs and way of life. It is without doubt that at the Son Kul nomads will invite you to their yurts to taste a piece of bread and to drink kumis- traditional staple drink made of mare's milk. In tents you will spend this night.
Day 7: Ride Son Kul Lake - Kyzyl Korgon Canyon (80km)
This morning after having breakfast we will ride in holy stones with ancient stone inscriptions (dating back to 800 B.C.) direction. After visiting the site of petroglyphs we leave Son Kul and cycle through Kara Keche Pass (3381m. a. s. l.) to the Djumgal Valley. Upon arrival we will walk in the region of red canyons, snow peaks, high mountains and rocks. This night will be spent in tents.
Day 8: Ride Kyzyl Korgon - Kyrk-Kyz Pass 3223m
This day we will pass near Kizil Oi (Red Canyon) Village and we will see rocks of different colors, unbelievable panoramic views and summer pastures of the Kyrgyz nomads. On the way to the village you will see outstanding red canyons, which are absolutely different from other mountains in Kyrgyz republic. Travelers are always impressed with the beauty of these places and all of them want to return there one more time. Kizil Oi is a small poor village in the mountains. You will have time to walk there and to see the life of Kyrgyz people in the countryside. Night will be spent in the tent camp.
Day 9: Ride Kyrk-Kyz pass - Ter Jailak pass 2446m - Toluk village (50km)
This day rout will be difficult. En route, on the summer pastures we will meet many Kyrgyz herdsmen. They come to this place even nowadays and you could see the way of their life. The Kyrgyz nomads are always happy to talk with foreign guests and they are very hospitable. You could see their felt dwellings and will be invited to try national drink - kumis that has really unusual taste. Kumis is made of mare's milk that is fermented. This overnight will be spent in tents.
Day 10: Ride and transfer to the Toktogul Village
After having breakfast we start our journey. The chauffeur will drive behind us. You will never forget incredible views and landscapes of this day. It becomes clear, when you are there, that the most perfect creation on the planet is natural world. Lunch will be taken on the way. We will be transferred to the village where we could take a shower or drive to the artificial lake. Free time. This night will be spent in the home stay.
Day 11: Transfer to Bishkek city
Breakfast. We will drive to Bishkek city in the morning. Offered through the views of untouched nature you will be carried away by the wonderful panoramic views. You will have spare time in Bishkek to go for shopping and just to go for a walk. This evening in a restaurant you will have a farewell dinner. You will spend this night in the hotel***.
Day 12: Transfer to the airport
According to your flight details you will be collected from the hotel by your guide and accompanied to the Airport of Manas.
